Arrived very promptly
I think this arrived around a week after I had ordered it. When I did, it was on sale and less than $1 per bar.I expected some of the bars to be broken since the chocolate in itself is crumbly and prone to breakage. The packaging it came in was a bubble wrapped box that had been obviously thrown around, but I don't fault the company Pharmacy Place for that. 1 of the flake's packaging unraveled so when I opened the box, it showered my desk with chocolate specks and bits. I then checked the flake to see if it had actually come from England and was not Arabic (seeing that many people on different flakes had gotten the Arabic version rather than an "authentic" English version), to my surprise, it did not appear to be from any place other than England, though a quick peek at the expiration date explained why it was on sale. It had expired about a month before. Shelf life isn't what it is now, so I don't really worry much about that, instead I did a taste check. The flake itself...

A 20 year romance.
A friend gave me my first Flake over 20 years ago. Her father had brought home a precious handful of them from a business trip to the UK. Boy, she must have really loved me to give me one of my very own!Cadbury makes good chocolate, but what sets these apart is how they are made. Of course - they are flaky. They are so fragile, they will fall apart in your hand really easily. Because of this fragility, they also melt in your mouth very nicely.One of the best (and I think this may be traditional) ways to indulge with a Flake is to stab it into a malt or milk shake and then let it fall apart. Yum!

The Perfect Treat
Flake is absolutely my favorite chocolate. It is hard to eat because it falls apart but the taste is worth it and it just melts in your mouth. It is less sweet than American chocolate so if you like dead sweet chocolate don't buy this.

British chocolate ....
Flake - a rippled layer of chocolate. In the adverts, you need to eat it in the bath in order to avoid dropping chocolate crumbs. Buy them and put them in the fridge. Eat your flake while balanced over a plate to catch the crumbs. Divine. So much better than typical US chocolate. Yum!

I'm a Brit living in the US. These are my favorite ever chocolate bars from the homeland. This price is GREAT! In World Market, the only other place I've found that stocks them, they are $1.99 per flake. So this is a brilliant deal. Only problem is, having 24 in the house at one time is ever so tempting......

childhood memories
I've been asking people for years if they remembered the braided chocolate covered candy bar we used to have back in the 70's and 80's? Like myself, everyone could remember the bar itself, but no one had seen one in years or could remember the their name. So I asked a search engine about them and it answered my question and refered me to Amazon, where I could purchace the bars under the name "Curly Wurley". I was very pleased to see that although the "Marathon Bar" had not been produced here in the United States in almost 30 years, I was still able to purchase them under a different name from the good folks at Amazon, and they are delicious, just as I remember from my childhood...YUMMY!! Who does not love Cadbury? and Flake is one chocolate that is hard to find in the States. I've not ordered it from amazon.com before, but I'm considering. It is a nice chance that it is available on here for people to try. This chocolate, just like its name, is flaky. It melts in your mouth once you bite into it because of its flakyness. It is a bit messy, so I suggest you keep it away from the kids. There are other versions other than milk chocolate. I've seen a dark chocolate, a white chocolate, a milk chocolate flake covered with milk chocolate, and a white chocolate flake covered with milk chocolate. My favorite is the plain original milk chocolate flake.
